Dr. Allen says that the best part about being an orthodontist is the opportunity to build close relationships with patients and their families. He enjoys witnessing not only the physical transformations orthodontic treatment provides but the emotional transformations as well. Patients often experience a renewed sense of self-esteem when their new smile is revealed. Celebrating these moments at the end of a successful treatment is truly an amazing honor.
Dr. Allen set his goal to become an orthodontist when he was in the 7th grade. Having braces changed his life in so many positive ways. He decided then, that he wanted to help others achieve the rewards of a straighter, more confident smile.
Dr. Allen graduated from Utah State University before earning his dental degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, graduating first in his class. Later, he earned his Certificate in Orthodontics and Master of Science in Dentistry at VCU. Following his residency, he practiced in Colorado for a few years before coming to the Chicagoland area.
He is dedicated to learning and stays on top of the latest technology in dentistry and orthodontics. He is an active member of the Illinois Society of Orthodontists, and the American Academy of Orthodontists.
During his leisure time, Dr. Allen enjoys taking his rescue mutt, Nugget, for walks with his family. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle has made early morning workouts one of his everyday hobbies. His favorite travel destination is the Central Coast wine region in California. He also likes cars, playing tennis, spending time with friends, and relaxing on the lake during the beautiful Chicago summers.
